About our laboratories

Our laboratories possess expert knowledge in areas such as geotechnics, chemistry, and microbiology. Experienced laboratory personnel work closely with our advisors and researchers, allowing us to offer specialized investigations and comprehensive solutions – from sampling planning to selecting analytical methods and evaluating results.

We have extensive experience in method development and have long been active members of the Swedish Geotechnical Society (SGF), contributing to the creation of guidelines and standards. Additionally, we participate in various CEN standardization committees, helping shape the standards for both field and laboratory methods.

Accreditation and certification

To ensure the reliability of our investigation results, we have chosen to accredit a significant portion of our laboratory operations.

The Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment (SWEDAC) regularly audits us to verify compliance with accreditation requirements under SS-EN/IEC 17025 (SWEDAC No. 1148). This accreditation requires strict procedures for calibration, control, and documentation.

We are also quality and environmentally certified according to ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2000. Each year, we conduct an internal quality audit of the SGI Laboratory.

Our laboratories

Geotechnical laboratory

We perform geotechnical analyses of soils and residual materials to assess their mechanical and hydraulic properties.

Environmental laboratory

SGI's environmental laboratory focuses on research and method development. We design and test new methods to analyze, identify, and quantify substances associated with contaminated sites.
