Our work on climate change adaptation

Our work focuses on reducing the risks associated with changing ground conditions and the spread of contaminants in a changing climate. This is achieved through national and international collaborations, together with other authorities or within various research and development projects.

Research area: climate change adaptation

Our research focuses on how the meteorological and hydrological effects of climate change impact the ground in terms of landslide, and erosion risks, soil properties, land use, and effects on the built environment and infrastructure. We also study how these impacts should be assessed, measured, or calculated.

Risk areas for landslides, erosion and flooding

SGI and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) have identified ten climate-related risk areas for landslides,  erosion, and flooding.
